FAIRLEE — The southbound lanes of Interstate 91 between Bradford, Vt., and Fairlee will be closed for up to 35 days beginning Saturday.
During that time, workers will continue stabilizing a steep rock ledge that partially collapsed in early 2024. The project, led by the Vermont Agency of Transportation, is expected to be completed this fall.
The closure applies to a roughly 6-mile stretch between Exit 16 in Bradford, Vt., and Exit 15 in Fairlee, according to a news release from VTrans. The closure will allow contractors to work as much as 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
During the closure, motorists will be rerouted to Route 5, which also serves as Main Street in downtown Fairlee.
“Morning commuters should add extra time or seek an alternative route,” the Fairlee Police Department wrote in a Monday Facebook post.
