CHELSEA — Two separate criminal cases against a Bradford man accused of assault, reckless endangerment and other charges have been dismissed.
State prosecutors dismissed charges in the first case, filed in 2023, against Travis Guyette, formerly of Pleasant Street in Bradford, after the complainants and witnesses refused to cooperate with prosecutors and were unable to be located, said Colin Seaman, Orange County State’s Attorney.
In that case, Guyette, a 2009 graduate of Oxbow Union High School, had been charged with attacking a man with whom he was sharing a residence at the time.
In 2024, Guyette was charged a second time with assault against his girlfriend and causing property damage inside Pompanoosuc Mills, according to court records. The state moved to dismiss those charges in concurrence with the complainants after they decided not to press charges, Seaman said.
Guyette is “no longer residing in the area and is now living in a fully structured environment outside the community,” said Seaman, adding the complainants are “very supportive of his current situation and rehabilitation.”
Following the first set of charges in 2023, Guyette spent 25 days incarcerated at Northeast Correctional Complex in St. Johnsbury, according Department of Corrections records.
