WOODSTOCK — The Woodstock Selectboard unanimously appointed a new member at a meeting last week.

Greg Fullerton replaces Joe Swanson, who left the board when he was appointed the town’s police chief. Swanson, the son of late town manager Phil Swanson, took a leave from the board starting in May when he applied for the police chief position and official stepped down after he was appointed chief.

The 4-0 vote followed an executive session, according to minutes from the board’s Aug. 25 meeting.

Fullerton, who owns a property management business, was selected from a pool of six applicants, Municipal Manager Eric Duffy said. Fullerton is a long-time Woodstock resident and also has experience with roads and other infrastructure, which are a “big part of the budget and what we do in the municipality,” Duffy said.

In addition to Fullerton, the Woodstock Selectboard includes Chairman Ray Bourgeois, whose term ends in 2026; Vice Chairwoman Susan Ford, whose term is up next year; Keri Cole, whose term ends in 2025; and Mary Riley, whose term ends in 2025.

Fullerton’s term ends in March, when Swanson’s term would have been up.
