ENFIELD — The Enfield Planning Board will pick up its discussion of Conkey Enterprises’ proposal to operate a gravel pit on Bog Road at its meeting Wednesday night.
Art Conkey, owner of Conkey Enterprises, wants to reopen and expand the gravel pit, which will take up roughly 12 acres of the 95-acre property he purchased in June. Enfield and Grantham residents, many of whom live in Eastman, have spoken out against the gravel pit over concerns that the operation would affect an aquifer that runs under the property and supplies water to the community.
The Planning Board will meet at 7 p.m. in the conference room at the Department of Public Works at 74 Lockehaven Road. People can also attend the meeting on Microsoft Teams via https://tinyurl.com/2p8vh2pz.
