Article of Note: Article 5: “To hear a report on and discuss how best to spend the American Rescue Plan Act money the town will receive ($425,970).”
The use of town ARPA funds to be addressed by Article 5 on the warning is open-ended and will likely lead to discussion, said Dick Kelley, Corinth’s town treasurer. ARPA funds are distributed to state and local governments by a program under the U.S. Department of the Treasury and may be used to address the negative economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, provide premium pay for essential workers, replace lost public sector revenue or invest in community infrastructure such as water, sewer and broadband. Town Meeting will provide Corinth residents with an opportunity to discuss the ways that these funds may best be applied within the community.
