The risk of fire is high over the weekend, warns the New Hampshire Forest Protection Bureau. And the National Weather Service has issued a fire hazard warning for the state.
In high-risk conditions, the bureau warns that fires over “continuous fuel” such as mature grassland and a littered forest floor would be difficult to control because of high winds. Outdoor burning should be restricted to the early morning and late evening, the agency suggests.
Humidity levels are predicted to drop as wind picks up to 20 miles per hour, according to the National Weather Service.
In Vermont, the National Weather Service has not issued a warning. Still, meteorologists foresee lowering humidity and rising wind speeds. Conditions will lead to “a warming and drying trend for next week and no precipitation is expected,” wrote the National Weather Service.
