CROYDON — The Croydon School Board has announced it will hold two meetings next week, at 6:30 p.m. Monday and Wednesday. The board canceled a planned meeting scheduled for Thursday.

School board vice chairman Aaron McKeon said in an email message that there were too many scheduling conflicts with the Thursday meeting, so the decision was made to move the meeting.

It was originally moved to next Tuesday, but that conflicted with the regularly scheduled Selectboard meeting and the School Board wanted to allow everyone to attend.

“The business manager can’t be there on Monday, but we decided it was more important townspeople be able to attend while we still hone in on what direction we’ll be pursuing,” McKeon said via email.

The Croydon School Board is facing a tall task of crafting a spending plan for the town’s school district after a motion from the floor during the annual School Meeting on Saturday slashed the proposed $1.7 million budget to $800,000.
