GRAFTON — Incumbent Bonnie Haubrich defeated write-in candidate Kami Hammond to remain Grafton’s town clerk.

Haubrich received 211 votes to Hammond’s 67.

Lee Hogue received 162 votes to win a three-year term on the Select Board. Maureen O’Reilly received 123 votes.

In a contested race for a six-year term as supervisor of the checklist, Denise Smith received 162 votes to Catherine Mulholland’s 114.

Angus Gorman received 178 votes to Brian Fellers’ 98 for a three-year term on the town’s planning board.

Voters also approved the town’s nearly $1.2 million budget by a vote of 195 to 86.

They defeated a motion, 163-134, to spend $3,000 to restore the town’s historical records. Voters also defeated an article recommended by the Select Board to change the position of police chief from elected to appointed: 118 people voted in favor and 182 were opposed.

Also defeated were three petitioned articles: One that addressed amending subdivision regulations, another that would have done away with a fine for violating the Grafton Building Notification Ordinance and a third that would have repealed the two acre minimum lot size for dwellings.
