Article of note: Two petitioned articles ask voters to do away with a traditional floor meeting and vote on all articles via Australian ballot, and another would expand the Selectboard from three to five members.
Contested races: Mike Diehn, Dolores C. Struckhoff and Susan E. Brown are running for a three-year term on the library board of trustees. Susan E. Brown and Shirley J. Ryea are running for a single six-year term as supervisor of the checklist.
Budgets and spending articles: Voters will be asked to approve a $7.57 million municipal budget, which is roughly $400,000 more than last yearโs $7.15 million budget. Additionally, voters will be asked to approve two bonds: a $5.8 million bond to renovate Whitney Hall, the town offices and the library, and a $7.26 million bond to build a public safety facility, which will include the townโs police, fire and EMS departments.
When, where and how to vote: Voting for elected officials and articles two through six, which address updating the town zoning ordinances, will take place by Australian ballot from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Enfield Community Building, 308 US Route 4. Voting on all other articles will take place during a floor meeting that starts at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 30, at Huse Park, 308 US Route 4.
