Article of note: Voters will be asked to approve the establishment of a Federal COVID Grant Capital Fund for the funds expended under the U.S. Treasury Rules of the American Relief Plan Act (ARPA).
Contested races: Unless presented with a write-in candidacy, there are no contested races in West Fairlee this year.
Budgets and spending articles: Voters are asked to approve $810,564 in operating expenses and appropriations, which is $42,190 more than last year’s budget. $677,319 will be raised by taxes, which is a 5.2% increase from last year.
When, where and how to vote: Voting will take place by Australian ballot at the West Fairlee Community Building, 870 VT-113, on Tuesday, March 1, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. An informational meeting on the budget will be held on Zoom at 6 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 21.
