Article of note: The Selectboard is asking voters to establish some new reserve funds, including one for unanticipated expenses, one for operation performance and development and a third to respond to the emerald ash borer.

Contested races: Selectboard Chair Roger Arnold faces a challenge from Pamela Smith, a town lister, trustee of public funds and former member of the Town Finance Committee. School Board members Lily Trajman and Garrett Palm are running unopposed.

Budgets and spending articles: The proposed town budget of $4.9 million is 3.7% higher than the current yearโ€™s. If all the spending items on the warning pass, town expenses will total nearly $5.4 million.

The $6.6 million budget at Marion Cross School is 6.6% higher than the current yearโ€™s.

When, where and how to vote: All business will be conducted in ballot voting on March 1. The polls will be open at Tracy Hall, 300 Main St., from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. An online meeting is planned for 7 p.m. on Feb. 28.
