HARTFORD — A 20-year-old western Massachusetts man was killed early Saturday evening after his vehicle left Interstate 89 and struck some trees, Vermont State Police said in a news release.
Louis Blair, of South Hadley, Mass., was driving a Honda Element southbound near mile marker 4.9 when the accident occurred around 5:11 p.m., the release said.
A caller told police a vehicle had “left the roadway into the tree line at a high rate of speed,” the release said. Blair was found dead inside the vehicle.
Conditions at the time were clear and dry. Blair was “in the Burlington area working for his family’s small business. He was on his way home to Massachusetts when he crashed,” Trooper Stacia Geno said via email.
Anyone with information about the crash was asked to call Geno, who works out of the Royalton barracks, at 802-234-9933.
