LEBANON — A 29-year-old Claremont man was ordered held on $1,500 cash bail Monday after pleading not guilty to charges he stabbed an intoxicated Lebanon man who had pushed his mother during an altercation at a downtown apartment building.
Brandon Brymer, 33, was threatening residents at 71 Hanover St. around 7 p.m. Friday, and one witness said he pushed and punched Mary Supernois, according to an affidavit submitted by Lebanon Police Officer James Pike.
Supernois’ son, Chase W.R. Miller, who was visiting from Claremont, got into an altercation with Brymer, stabbed him in the chest with a knife and then threw the knife into the woodline behind the building, according to police. Authorities found the knife with help from the Lebanon Police Department K-9 Nitro, police said
According to Pike’s affidavit, Miller said to police, “ ‘Grab my mom or push my mom that’s it,’ or words to that effect.”
Miller was arraigned Monday in Grafton Superior Court on charges of second degree assault and falsifying physical evidence, both felonies. He is due back in court on Dec. 13.
Brymer, who police found in the road, bleeding from an apparent knife wound to the chest, was taken to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and charged with disorderly conduct, a violation-level offense, and simple assault, a misdemeanor. He was released on personal recognizance bail and is to be arraigned on Dec. 13, police said in a news release.
Pike’s affidavit said Brymer was “heavily intoxicated” and had suffered a “visible laceration on the right side of his chest” about one inch in length.
Miller was still being held at the Grafton County jail early Monday evening after his arraignment.
