HARTLAND – The Vermont Agency of Transportation will close a bridge in Hartland over Lulls Brook for much of September while the road undergoes construction, according to a news release on the project.

The bridge, which is on Route 12, about 1 ½ miles north of the intersection with Route 5, will be closed from Sept. 7 to Sept. 20 for the project. During that time, workers will replace the concrete deck of the bridge to correct a “full depth hole” which developed in the bridge a year ago, the release said.

Workers will also add new structural steel to the existing beams, the release said.

Until the project begins on Sept. 7, the Agency of Transportation has set up a new traffic pattern, turning the bridge into a one-lane road.
