WHITE RIVER JUNCTION — Drivers traveling between West Lebanon and Hartford Village should expect “significant delays” as crews mill pavement along routes 4 and 14 this week.
The paving work, and traffic delays, started on Monday, and lanes will be closed and limited to alternating one-way traffic between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. through Friday, according to a news release from the Vermont Agency of Transportation.
The paving is taking place from the Vermont side of the Lyman Bridge in White River Junction on Route 4, aka Maple Street, then proceeding west to the Route 14 intersection with Elk Street in Hartford Village.
The work is part of a $3.3 million effort to repave the roadways, upgrade sidewalk ramps and pedestrian crossings and replace signs and the lights at major intersections. The project is scheduled to be completed by next summer.
During the milling work, construction vehicles will be pulling into the lane closures and drivers are asked to provide them with plenty of space, according to the release.
