Mel Didier catches up on some of her part-time work as a remote digital assistant as Kurt Johnson plays with their dog Westley in the parking lot of the Hartford town offices in White River Junction last week. The couple is about halfway through a tour of the lower 48 states undertaken after losing their resort jobs in Vail, Colo., early in the coronavirus pandemic. Both contracted COVID-19 in March 2020 after an international snowboard event brought the virus to Vail.
