WHITE RIVER JUNCTION — A 40-year-old man whom police had been seeking for four months was arrested Wednesday on charges related to a December home invasion and shooting, according to a news release from the Hartford Police Department.
Calvin Therrien, who does not have a permanent address, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the shooting at a home on Christian Street. He was also charged on other outstanding warrants not related to the December case, with counts including aggravated assault, larceny, theft and trespassing.
The arrest stems from an incident around 1:45 a.m. Dec. 28. Police said Therrien and another man, Anthony Cormier, 33, forced their way into the home, with Therrien shooting 32-year-old Adam Runnals in the arm and Cormier hitting 31-year-old Matthew Shumway with a metal pipe before fleeing the scene, according to court records.
Hartford police said that the injuries were not life-threatening and that Runnals and Shumway knew Therrien and Cormier.
Cormier was taken into custody shortly after the incident and was ordered held without bail during his arraignment. But Therrien remained at large until he was taken into custody Wednesday.
A date for Therrien’s arraignment has not been set.
