ENFIELD, NH — Margaret Mary DePalo, 82, loving wife and devoted mother passed away Friday, March 19th 2021 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. She was affectionately known as “Peggy’ to her family and friends. She was born in Brockton, MA on Jan. 5, 1939 to the late Earl & Juliette Simmons. Peggy grew up in White River Junction, VT and graduated from Hartford High School, class of 1958. Peggy married her high school sweetheart Joseph DePalo Jr. on February 7th 1959. She worked hard as a stay-at-home mother and helped with her husband’s business. She enjoyed sewing and was an active member at Sacred Heart as a communicant and member of the choir. She cherished her family, enjoyed traveling the world with her husband and lived her life as a beautiful example of faith and love.
She is survived by her loving husband and high school sweetheart of 68 years, her children, Tim DePalo and wife Tran of Dover, NH, Theresa DePalo of Enfield, NH, Lisa DePalo of Enfield, NH, Jennifer Poulin of Sanford, ME, and Joe DePalo III and wife Alesha of Enfield, NH; ten grandchildren: Shannon, Nicholas, Renee, Chelsea, Alexander, Dominick, Joey IV, Haley, Benjamin, Thomas, and one great grandson Da’Vonte. Two sisters, Pat Courtemanche and her husband Bob of Port Charlotte, FL and Jean Allen of Punta Gorda, FL. She was predeceased by her son Thomas DePalo.
Family and friends are invited to Peggy’s calling hours at the Ricker Funeral Home & Crematory in Lebanon on Wednesday March 24th from 5 to 7 PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of La Salette in Enfield on Thursday March 25th at 11 AM. Peggy’s committal service will take place later in the spring when the cemetery is open. Social distancing and COVID -19 guidelines will be followed at both the funeral home and La Salette.
