DORCHESTER — Challenger Richard Sala defeated Selectboard Chairman Sherman Hallock in Town Meeting voting on Tuesday.
Sala, who had been serving as Dorchester moderator, won 29 votes to 21 for Hallock. In uncontested races, Eleanor Myles was elected town treasurer; Shawn Russell as cemetery trustee; and Russell was also elected to the Planning Board.
Voting on the $531,600 operating budget and other measures will take place on Saturday by Australian ballot from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
