WEATHERSFIELD — Residents narrowly approved the $6.57 million school budget, 6.7% higher than the current year, during Australian ballot voting that took the place of traditional Town Meeting on Tuesday.
The vote total was 249-223, separated by 26 votes.
Voters also approved a nearly level-funded $1.44 million municipal budget and the $1.15 million highway budget.
Incumbent Michael Todd ran unopposed for a three-year seat on the Selectboard and Kelly O’Brien was elected for a two-year seat. Jacquelin Antonivich, Kristin Bruso, Mark Yuengling and Jaimie Turner all won re-election to the School Board. They did not face any challengers.
In terms of voter turnout, 479 people cast ballots in both the school and town articles.
