KEENE, N.H. — Seems like the Lebanon-Stevens-Mount Royal boys hockey team is starting to find its groove.
The Raiders scored three first-period goals to cruise to a 5-0 victory over Monadnock-Fall Mountain at Keene Ice on Saturday afternoon. They’re now 5-2-0 and on a three-game win streak.
Aidan Yates tallied two goals in the first period, with assists from Will McGee and Cesar Salcedo. Andrew Duany netted the first period’s third goal on a Griffin Auch pass.
In the second period, McGee opened the scoring with Salcedo and Yates notching assists. Duany capped the night’s scoring on an unassisted goal.
Lebanon visits Berlin-Gorham on Monday at Notre Dame Ice Arena.
SALEM, N.H. — Trailing 1-0 after one period, the Marauders stormed back to score three goals in the second period and two more in the third.
Casey Graham tallied a goal and two assists while Matt Walsh, Alex Rockmore and Curtis Rice each had a goal and assist. Wyatt Seelig added a score.
Jack Gardner, Jackson Fisher and Ben Wagner all contributed one assist for Hanover (3-5). Luke Ives made 15 saves for the Marauders, who host Bishop Guertin on Wednesday.
WOODSTOCK—– Andrew Gubbins scored two goals and added an assist to lead the Wasps to a season-opening victory.
Evan Kurash and Riley Shepherd each had assists, and Field Willis had a goal. Woodstock (1-0-0) killed a five-minute penalty at the end of the game to seal the win.
Keaton Piconi made 13 saves for the Wasps, who outshot the visitors 19-13. They are scheduled to play CVU on Wednesday at Cairns Arena.
BARRE, Vt. — Goalie Zoe Pfeiffer made 23 saves as the Hurricanes opened up the season on the road. Sophomore July McDermid and eighth-graders Madison Barwood and Emma Bazin were among the Canes who stood out, coach Kylie Young said.
Hartford (0-1-0) visits Brattleboro on Wednesday.
PETERBOROUGH, N.H. — The Raiders claimed both the girls and boys individual and team honors at a five-kilometer freestyle race at Con-Val.
Ayla Weale prevailed for the Raider girls in 15:09.2. Zoe Chinn was third (16:40.0), Maya Barnett fourth (17:03.4) and Ana Goodwin fifth (17:05.1) for Lebanon, which also placed Anna Illsley, Sophie Longacre, Elizabeth Kourbatski and Kayla Taber in the top 10.
Daniel Mladek paced the Lebanon boys (13:18.5), with Sam Shipman third (13:41.8), Seth Carl fourth (14:01.0) and John Bieszczad fifth (14:07.8). Otto Bourne, James Barnett, Carlos Kennelly and Francis Calandrella also cracked the top 10 for the Raiders.
