CONCORD — A Lebanon man pleaded guilty in Grafton Superior Court on Wednesday to wrongful voting for casting two ballots during the 2016 presidential election, according to a news release from the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office.
Vincent Marzello, 65, was sentenced to 90 days in prison, all suspended for two years, and ordered to pay $300 out of a total $3,000 penalty brought against him by the Office. The remainder of the fine is suspended for five years, according to the release.
An indictment filed in Grafton Superior Court in November alleged that Marzello knowingly voted twice — once as himself and once under the name Helen Elisabeth Ashley — in Lebanon four years ago.
The case made national news in September when conservative organization Project Veritas announced it had a video in which Marzello admitted to voting twice.
In an interview with the Valley News last year, Marzello said the Ashley identity was his “alter ego.”
