WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, VT — Charlotte Rachel Darrah, 76, a lifelong resident of White River Junction, died early Saturday morning, February 6, 2021, at the Lebanon Center Genesis Elder Care in Lebanon, NH. She was born, January 16, 1945, in White River Jct., VT the daughter of Henry B. and Charlotte (Elliott) Leavitt and graduated from Hartford High School in 1963. Charlotte received her education for License Nursing Assistance at the Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Hanover, NH. She lived in the Jericho District of White River, worked as a nurse’s aide at Mary Hitchcock Hospital for more than 30 years, was kind to all, and always wanted to help those who were ill. Her favorite thing to do was to put her feet in the sand on the beach, watch the ocean, and enjoy a fresh Maine lobster.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Tom Darrah; three brothers, Henry J., William, and Bill Leavitt; and three sisters, Jean Leavitt, June Gunzinger, and Janet Ford.
Charlotte is survived by her son, John Halpin IV and his wife, Brenda of Corinth, TX; two grandchildren, Kayla and Austen; one brother, Edward Leavitt of White River Jct., VT; several nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
There will no services at this time. In lieu of donations, Rachel’s son John requests that everyone do something kind for someone else in his mother’s memory.
