WEST LEBANON — The Hanover High boys hockey team fell, 2-0, on Thursday night to visiting Salem in an NHIAA Division I matchup at Campion Rink.
Luke Ives made 29 saves in net for the Marauders, who dropped to 1-4-0 on the season.
Coach Dick Dodds credited Tom Lyons, Spencer Lawe and Ben Wagner for strong play. Hanover heads down south to the Icenter in Salem for a rematch on Saturday, where it will look to dish the Blue Devils (5-0-0) their first loss of the season.

MERIDEN — Ayla Weale led the Leganon girls to a win in a three-team meet against Hanover and Kearsarge at the Plainfield School, finishing first with a time of 17:25.
Noah Phipps (14:12.7) edged out his brother, Simon (14:12.8), for the win by milliseconds, guiding Hanover to a win in the boys race.
Weale was joined in the top five by teammate Zoe Chinn (17:40) in third. Anna Illsley (18:25) and Sophie Longacre (18:57) finished back-to-back in ninth and 10th.
A group of Hanover skiers stuck together. Margaret Frost (17:42) was fourth, Sage Gilbert-Diamond (17:59) took fifth, Britta Arvold (17:55) placed sixth and Elsa May (18:08) finished seventh.
Behind the Phipps brothers were Noah Branchflower (15:41) in seventh and Taj Bagnato (15:56) in ninth.
The Raider boys took 3-4-5 behind Seth Carl (15:16), Daniel Mladek (15:20) and John Bieszczad (15:31). Rounding out Lebanon’s scoring was Sam Shipman (15:46) in eighth.
