GIRLS HOCKEYOR-Portsmouth 2, Leb.-Stev.-Kear. 1 (OT)

DOVER, N.H. — Kelly Zhang’s score with 3:19 remaining in overtime boosted Oyster River-Portsmouth to a comeback victory over visiting Lebanon-Stevens-Kearsarge in an NHIAA Division I girls hockey contest at Dover Ice Arena.

Lebanon’s Mackayla Maccioli pounced on a loose puck from Elena Robb’s blocked shot midway through the second period, scoring the game’s first goal and giving the Raiders a 1-0 lead. Greta Barber also earned an assist.

Oyster River forged a 1-1 tie with 20 seconds remaining in the second frame, and the extra-time goal sealed the win.

“We battled hard all game and did a better job limiting shots from close range than we did last week against Hanover,” said Lebanon coach Mike Sheehan, whose team dropped to 0-2 on the season. “We just need to keep working on generating offense. We’re still a young team finding our way, which is even tougher in this shortened season with a challenging schedule. “

Goalie Paige Hoegler made 39 saves for the Raiders, who take on Hanover at Campion Rink on Tuesday.
