MOON TOWNSHIP, PA — Rachel A. L’Heureux 87 of Moon Township, Pennsylvania passed away December 11, 2020 at home after a lengthy illness surrounded by her family. She was also a resident of Hobe Sound, Florida. Rachel was born on February 21, 1933 in Hanover, New Hampshire to Roger and Hazel Lange. In addition to her parents, she is proceeded in death by her loving husband of 56 years Warren H L’Heureux, sisters Esther (husband George) Horton and Marion (husband John) Balch and brother Sonny (wife Virginia) Lange and several nephews and nieces all of New Hampshire. Rachel was a homemaker and an exceptional mother, grandmother and great grandmother to son David L’Heureux (Danette) of Washington, PA, daughters Dianne Love of Moon Township, PA and Tammy L’Heureux of Singer Island, FL, granddaughter Heather Pranskey and husband Tommy of Center Township, PA, great grandson and “Grammy” to Thomas Warren Pranskey and canine companion Maggie May.
Rachel was kind hearted and known as “Gram” to all who knew her. She made everyone feel as though they were her family. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing cards and shuffle board, making crafts, traveling across the country in the RV as a member of the US Airways RV Club, visiting various casinos and ballparks along the way. Rachel enjoyed her horses that she owned with her husband Warren for several years at the Meadows Racetrack. She loved all Pittsburgh sports teams and was a loyal fan for many years.
Rachel will be missed by family, friends and all who knew her. Due to Covid concerns a celebration of life will be planned for spring/summer of 2021. The family would like to take the time to thank all of her doctors and special thanks to Amedisys Hospice for her care in her final days.
