BRIDGEWATER, VT — It is with sadness that Jerald “Jerry” Douglas Waters, from Bridgewater, died on December 17, 2020, after losing his fight to cancer. He was born February 27, 1952 to Julian “Ralph” and June (Sawyer) Waters. He was a brother to Bonnie (deceased), Ron and Randy Waters. He lived his entire life in Vermont, graduated from WUHS in 1970 and was in the Air Force from 1970-1974. When he returned home he painted for Erwin Rogers, Ron Waters Painting and retired from Painting Solutions. He was well known to the local residents for his meticulous painting skills

On June 21, 1975 he married Alison Letourneau and they were married for 45 years. They had three children Jennifer (Eric) Lamoureux, WRJ, Nicholas Waters, Bridgewater and Jacob (Jami) Waters of Reading. He coached the Bridgewater Bee Stompers, played men’s league softball, volleyball and basketball. He loved to hunt and fish which he did with his kids and grandkids. He referred to himself as “One with the Woods.” He leaves his 7 beautiful grandchildren Ayla, Coleman, Maya, Karter, Johnathan, Jaden, and Gabriella. They will miss their “Papa” and all the tea parties, fishing adventures, camping and rides in his ‘70 Cuda.

He and Alison always found love, relaxation and humor in their 20 plus years traveling to Aruba. He was spontaneous in his humor which he felt was the essence of a happy life. Their social media videos left people laughing at his antics. He was determined to remain home during his final weeks and with the help from Hospice and devotion from his wife and children he felt safe and loved with his family.

Due to COVID there will be no services at this time. He was thankful for the Bridgewater Volunteer Fire Department for saving their home in January of 2015. Donations may be made in his memory to the Bridgewater Volunteer Fire Department, 7392 Rt 4 Bridgewater, VT 05034.
