LEBANON — Several Upper Valley hospitals posted celebratory messages to Facebook on Friday announcing the start of COVID-19 vaccinations for staff members.
Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital in Lebanon and New London Hospital posted videos to their Facebook pages. At APD, 65 front-line health care workers got their first shots of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine on Friday, according to the Lebanon hospital’s post.
The New London video announced the beginning of vaccine distributions there using the dramatic music and structure of a movie trailer. “Starting today from the producers Pfizer (and) Moderna; A for your health presentation Vaccine: There is hope,” read the text on the screen.
Cottage Hospital in Woodsville also issued a news release on Friday announcing it had begun distributing vaccines to employees on Thursday.
Other Upper Valley hospitals had previously announced that they kicked off their vaccinations for front-line workers last week.
In Vermont, hospitals also have begun distributing vaccine doses to first responders.
