CANAAN, NH — Lucille W. Teno, 95, of Canaan, NH, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 29, 2020 at home.
Born in Plymouth, PA she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Aniela (Jasinski) Witkoski. She went to university during World War II earning her BS from Elmira University and her MS in Social Work from University of Buffalo, then married her childhood sweetheart, Joseph Teno. She specialized in providing social services for children with disabilities and adults with head injuries at various facilities in Massachusetts. Her husband died in 1976 and Lucille relocated to Canaan, NH in the early 1980’s to a home that had been designed and built by her husband and two sons.
Preceding her were her 6 siblings, Florence, Robert, Edmund, Rita, Anja, and Benjamin. Surviving are her long-term partner, Richard LeCain; children, Joseph and Benjamin; two grandsons, Andrew and Joseph, with their spouses, Tarin and Greta; and 2 great grandchildren, Theodore and Tabitha.
Lucille was an educated, independent woman who valued family, life-long education, and hard work. She lived on Goose Pond Road for nearly 40 years and loved its beauty and solitude.
Close family will gather privately. No public service is planned.
