LEBANON — The city of Lebanon on Thursday declared a “level 1 moderate drought,” triggering watering restrictions during the day.
Residents and businesses are now prohibited from lawn and landscape watering between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Members of the public were also asked to “voluntarily refrain from lawn and landscape watering and to limit the amount of water used outdoors for other purposes.”
Under an ordinance approved by the City Council in July, anyone who violates the restrictions, which are in place until further notice, is subject to a warning for a first violation, a $100 fine for a second offense, and fines between $200 and $1,000 for subsequent violations of the ordinance.
Anyone with concerns about the restrictions can contact Assistant Public Works Director Jay Cairelli at 603-448-3112.
