SPRING HILL, FL — Michael Quinn quietly passed away on August 28, 2020 at his home in Spring Hill, FL after a long battle with cancer. His wife and daughter were at his side.
He was born in Hanover, NH on December 3, 1940, the son of Louis Quinn and Marie (Thibodeau) Quinn.
He lived the majority of his life in Lebanon, NH and Claremont NH. On September 8, 1962 he married Gladys Jones of Meriden, NH. He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Margaret Quinn Hastings, a son-in-law, David Hastings, two grandsons, David and Nicholas, a great-granddaughter, Miah, a sister-in-law, Margie Quinn and a nephew, Kevin Quinn.
He was preceded in death by his parents and only brother, Patrick Quinn.
He worked for the Valley News as a reporter and then in advertising department. He spent the last few years of his working career at the Eagle Times in Claremont, NH as advertising director.
His life time achievements are numerous. He served as Executive Director for the Claremont Chamber of Commerce. His tireless efforts to promote the City of Claremont earned him the “Citizen of the Year” award. He brought “First Night” to Claremont. He served on numerous Boards: NH Chamber of Commerce, Economic Development of Sullivan County, Upper Valley Lake Sunapee Council, United Way of Sullivan County, Connecticut Valley Home Health care, River Valley college, Sugar River Valley of Sullivan County, Connecticut Valley Home Health Care, River Valley College, Sugar River Valley Regional Technical High School, Valley Regional Hospital Board and the North Country Economic Council.
Mike loved to entertain. Family and friends will fondly remember the many dinners held at his home. He will be forever missed by all whose lives he touched.
Due to Covid-19, memorial services will be held in NH at a future date. Contributions can be made , in his name to your local Hospice care Center.
