CHARLESTOWN, NH — Collin D. Clifford passed away at his home in Charlestown, NH on September 15, 2020 of natural causes at the age of 57. Collin was born on April 15, 1963 in Springfield, VT to Daniel and Gina Clifford and spent his entire life living in Charlestown.
Collin was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Clifford. He is survived by his mother Regina Clifford, his brother Mitch and his wife Deveney from Springfield VT, his sisters Sandy from Claremont and Sharon French her husband Todd and their son Logan from Grantham, NH along with several cousins.
Collin attended Charlestown Elementary, Jr. High School and graduated from
Fall Mountain High School in 1982, where he excelled in soccer and baseball through his teen years including summer Legion League.
After graduation Collin worked in Charlestown for Lloyd Matheson, Inc., Blanc & Bailey Construction, Inc., Benson Wood Builders, LLC., and most recently for many years at Bomar by Pompanette, LLC., Charlestown where he built hatches and equipment for pleasure boats, mega yachts, sportfishing boats and commercial vessels. He even crafted his mother and sister’s front doors which is a daily reminder of Collin’s talent and love for his family. Collin had a passion for the beauty of wood, the love of boats, motors and anything that has a clutch. The hard work ethic and dedication Collin gave to his job every day was part of his value system that he was very committed to. He liked a challenge in all his projects and his curiosity even kept him looking for the next new widget, which is still out there!
Collin grew up skiing at Mt. Ascutney which was a weekend family affair back in the day filled with good friends, the last run-down Easy Street and plenty of apres ski. During the summer months Collin’s attention shifted to the Connecticut River where he especially enjoyed the speed and challenge of keeping his Hydra Stream boat upright and running. He even added the hobby of reconditioning antique Simplicity garden tractors over the last year. However, what brought him true joy and even a big happy smile was driving his old BMW 540i on Sunday afternoons during the summer and fall.
Anyone that knew Collin knew he was a man of few words, however, with a heart of gold and love for life, friends and family, he will be greatly missed. Rest in peace “Boy” we miss you already!
