LEBANON, NH — Forrest D. Mace, 95, passed away at Genesis-Lebanon Center on Thursday, July 9th, 2020. He was born to the late Frederick & Eva (Rule) Mace and grew up in White River Junction, VT. He attended Hartford Schools and enlisted in the Army. While serving he was wounded and received a Purple Heart for his service. Following his discharge, he returned home and began working at the local movie theater where he met his wife to be, Gladys Peck. They married in 1948 and began their family. Forrest later retired from interstate Tire. He was a member of VFW and enjoyed making maple syrup. He often mentioned that he was a “Jack of all trades, but a master of none.”
Forrest is survived by his wife of 72 years, Gladys Mace, a son James Mace and wife Alice, a daughter Nancy Wilson, a daughter Sandra Dixon and her husband Ken two sisters Charlotte Durkee and Joyce Davis, five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 8 siblings Frederick, Nathan, Gordon, Arnold, Chester, Audrey, Frances and Jessie.
The Mace family would like to thank the staff of Genesis for all their loving care during his stay with them.
There will be no services at this time. The family will have a private interment at their convenience in the future.
