LEBANON, NH — Leonard V. Decato, 94, passed away June 4, 2020, at Lebanon Center – Genesis.
He was born to the late Varis & Una (Tucker) Decato on November 7, 1925.
Leonard went to Sacred Heart School and graduated from Lebanon High School. He worked for A & P supermarkets in Lebanon, Newport and Keene, NH and Bellows Falls, VT for a total of 27 years. He later worked for the State of New Hampshire as an attendant at the exit 18 Welcome Center.
Leonard was married to Alice White, who predeceased him in 2008. He was also predeceased by his two brothers, Norman Decato and Edmund Decato.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Church and the Lebanon Historical Society.
Leonard is survived by his two daughters, Donna (and Gary) Dulac of Vero Beach, FL and Marie (and John) Hinds of Lebanon, NH, three grandchildren, Nicole Martin and Zachary Dulac, of Vero Beach, FL and Casey O’Quinn of Plainfield, NH. He is also survived by 2 great-grandchildren, Tenley and Blaise Martin of Vero Beach, FL.
Leonard lived all of his 94 years in the Upper Valley. He was a likable man with a keen sense of humor. He always had a smile for whomever he met. He was a wonderful provider to Alice. His two daughters and grandchildren were his pride and joy.
There will be no calling hours. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church in Lebanon on June 11 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Lebanon.
