FREEPORT, ME — Martha Helen Lambert age 88 died on Thursday May 14th at the Bella Point Nursing Home she was formerly from the greater Lebanon, New Hampshire area. She resided in Whitefield, NH for many years and lived in North Carolina for a few years before coming to Maine.

She was born in Lebanon, New Hampshire on January 9, 1932 the oldest child of Charles H and Martha L. Merrihew Strobel’s 11 children, she attended local schools.

Helen was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, sewing, crafts, and gardens. The beauty and quality of her quilts are enjoyed by many. Helen had a calm serene demeanor with a wonderful sense of humor. Helen was married for 62 years to the love of her life Arthur Joseph Lambert who died in 2012, she loved to tell stories of their beautiful courtship. Helen lead a quiet steady life and was beyond generous to anyone she knew or met. While she had humble means, she shared with many including taking in foster children that she had hoped to adopt. Her Heart was immense, and her pockets were small, l but she always gave her greatest gift, love that knew no depths.

She was survived by three sons, Joseph, Everett, and Artin and a daughter Joanne O’ Obrien. Five sisters Lillian, Mary, Bertha, Virginia, and Dorothy and two brothers William and Donald. Several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband and a son Arthur J Lambert Jr. in 1955 and three brothers Charles, Richard, and Robert.

Internment was in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Lebanon, NH.
