CANAAN — Residents by about 3-to-1 margins approved using reserve funds of $180,000 for a 10-wheel dump truck for the highway department and $37,000 for a police cruiser.
In Australian ballot voting on Tuesday, they also passed $4 million in spending on general town operations, a $207,000 increase, on a 293-141 vote.
A petition article to provide a property tax exemption for solar, wind or wood-heating equipment at Canaan homes was rejected 239-195.
A $10,000 funding request for Mascoma Community Health Center passed 227-196. The Selectboard was opposed, but the Budget Committee approved of the request.
Another petition request, $2,800 for West Central Behavioral Health, narrowly passed, 213-211. Similarly, $2,100 in funding for WISE passed 226-199.
There were no contested positions on the ballot.
