Tunbridge has embarked on a mission to find the biggest trees in town.

The Tunbridge Conservation Commission and Town Forest Committee have partnered to host a big trees contest, with the winners to be announced at Town Meeting in March and awarded tree-inspired prizes.

Measurements for the contest only recently started, but Eliza Minnucci of the Conservation Commission said River Teramiโ€™s entry of a yellow birch, which judges measured at 170 inches in circumference, could be a contender for state recognition in its species.
