LEBANON — Lebanon police received a unique gift from an anonymous donor this week: dog goggles.
The goggles, called “Rex Specs” were given to the department’s police dog, Nitro, a German Shepherd. They’re meant to protect the dog’s eyes from debris, branches and other harmful elements, and they’re especially useful when the dog is tracking a scent in the woods, according to a news release from the Lebanon Police Department.
A Wyoming-based company called Rex Specs, makes the goggles, which can cost around $80, according to its website.
Lebanon Police said they plan to match the donor’s gift with goggles for the other two dogs in their K-9 unit, Blesk and Kymba.
