Dartmouth to host event on children’s rights

HANOVER — The 8th annual Physicians for Human Rights Regional Symposium, “A 2020 Vision for Our Children’s Future,” will be held on Jan. 10 and 11 in the Life Sciences Center at Dartmouth College.

The free conference, organized by Geisel School of Medicine’s Physicians for Human Rights Chapter & undergraduates of the Nathan Smith Society, aims to tackle the many facets of children’s right to health: adverse childhood events, health care for youth around the world, the rights of displaced children, the effect of maternal health on children’s wellbeing, the rights of children with disabilities, the effect of education and the relationship between children and technology.

HCRS welcomesnew staff

SPRINGFIELD, Vt. — Southeastern Vermont’s community mental-health agency announced new hires in a news release.

In Windsor County, Health Care and Rehabilitation Services welcomed Alexis Morin, a direct support professional in Springfield; Darcy Cole, a direct support professional in Springfield; Darshina Yazzie, a behavioral interventionist in Hartford; Kelly Hyson, an office generalist in Hartford; and Kristina Bernard, a behavioral interventionist in Hartford.

The new hires will support the non-profit agency’s mental health, substance abuse and developmental disability programs.
