STRAFFORD, VT — Marvin G. Pixley, 79 died on Sunday, October 13, 2019 at his home in Strafford, VT.

He was born on June 13, 1940 in Strafford, VT the son of Grover and Alice (Harvey) Pixley. He served in the U.S. Army from 1962-1964. On June 10, 1972 he married Kandy Chandler. They lived all their married life in Strafford, VT where they raised their two children.

Marvin worked on the family dairy farm, P & C Foods, Dale’s Homes and plowed snow for the State Of Vermont before retiring.

He enjoyed watching football games and auto racing, his favorite driver was Denny Hamlin.

He is survived by his wife, Kandy Pixley and a son, Scott Pixley both of Strafford, VT; a daughter, Cassandra Gilmore of Wells River, VT; four grandchildren, Willow Springer, Vada Gilmore, Arissa Gilmore and Sierra Gilmore; a sister, Isabelle Spencer of Barre, VT and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by three brothers, Harvey Pixley, Arthur Pixley and Edward Pixley and a sister, Ruth Lewis.

There are no public calling hours. A committal service will be held Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at 1pm at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel in Randolph Center, VT.
