WHITE RIVER JUNCTION — The Hartford High girls soccer team erased a halftime deficit to beat visiting Mill River, 3-2, on Tuesday afternoon at the Maxfield Sports Complex.
The Hurricanes scored the game’s first goal when Reilly Slusser deposited one into the back of the net on a Carolyn North assist. Mill River then scored the next two goals to lead, 2-1, at halftime.
North was then taken down in the box five minutes into the second half, setting up a penalty kick opportunity for Abbie Koff, who converted for the equalizer.
The score remained deadlocked until Eleanor Hinckley scored the game-winning goal in the 65th minute, with an assist to Koff. Hinckley, a junior, has now scored a goal in six straight games.
“Eleanor has been really impressive; that does not happen that often in soccer,” Hartford coach Jeff Acker said. “It was a good team win today.”
Hartford (4-5-0) had Kaylyn Bills (seven saves) in goal, anchoring a defense which shut out Mill River in the second half.
The Canes will host Fair Haven under the lights on the Hartford High football field at 7 p.m. on Thursday. The game is Hartford’s annual breast cancer awareness game, where the Canes will team with the Fit and Fabulous program at Lebanon’s River Valley Club to collect donations for gift bags to be given to women undergoing cancer treatment. Admission to the game is free with any donation.
SHARON — Maeve Miller’s overtime golden goal lifted the Phoenix (2-6-0) over Long Trail.
The goal is the first of the season for Miller, a freshman. The win is the first for Sharon since a 2-1 victory at home over Randolph on Sept. 11.
The Phoenix will host Poultney on Thursday.
WOODSTOCK — The Slaters scored the game’s first three goals to build a lead too big for the Wasps (3-3-1) to overcome.
Woodstock’s Novah Conway scored late in the first half to get the hosts back within two goals. The Wasps will host Springfield on Thursday.
LEBANON — Tyler St. Martin needed just five minutes to get the Raiders (8-1-0) on the board in their latest NHIAA Division II victory.
Logan Falzarano set up St. Martin’s opener, and his right end-line rush and cross produced a Souhegan own goal in the 25th minute. Lebanon broke things open with goals from Nathan Magari and St. Martin two minutes apart early in the second half, and Falzarano ended the onslaught in the 51st.
Alex Felix, Falzarano and Sam Twarog produced second-half assists, and goalies Jorgen Leuthauser and Ryan Tanski split the five-save shutout. Jake Morrisette and Ryan Lockitt combined on 10 saves for the Sabers (1-7-0).
Lebanon visits Plymouth on Friday then hosts division-leading Con-Val (7-0-1) on Monday.
HUDSON, N.H. — The Marauders (8-1-0) made it six wins in a row with a goal and an assist from Charlie Adams setting the pace.
Eric Ringer’s throw-in set Hanover’s opening goal in motion, with Amane Matsuoka and Adams getting off shots before Adams fed Eli Stack with a pass off a rebound at 3:58. Matsuoka doubled the lead with his third goal of the campaign at 18:41. Adams provided the icing with a penalty kick at 68:18 after being taken down in the Broncos’ penalty area. Joey Perras made four saves for his second shutout of the season. Hanover, which stayed right behind Bedford atop the NHIAA D-I standings, visits Manchester Memorial on Thursday.
CHESTER, Vt. — Paul Metzer’s goal in the first half proved to be enough for the surging Wildcats (4-5-0).
WRV has now won three of its last four games to rebound from a slow start to the season.
“We’ve been focusing on eliminating costly mistakes. This was a big step toward that goal,” Wildcats coach Alex Montano said.
Jacob Barry assisted on Metzer’s goal. Goalkeeper Timber Russell made seven saves, including one on a penalty kick in the second half. Montano also highlighted standout performances by both Wyatt Slater and Donovan Forcier. The Wildcats host Arlington on Friday.
TILTON, N.H. — Sophomore Ben Seiler scored all five goals to lead the Royals (6-4-0) in a dominant showing against the Bears. Gabe Sperry, Ben Schwarz and Gavin Giovagnoli all had assists in the first half as Mascoma built a 3-0 lead. Seiler added a pair of unassisted goals to close things out in the second half.
Keeper Connor Thompson had two saves in the first half before yielding to Duncan Tuttle (four saves) in the second half. Mascoma will host Newfound on Thursday.
CONCORD — Freshman Joel Roberts had two goals, but the Eagles were undone when Trinity Christian scored twice in the final 10 minutes to pull away.
Eighth-grader Abel Goodwin scored the other goal for MVCS (2-6-0). Keeper Stan Nelson had five saves. The Eagles led, 2-1, at halftime but couldn’t contain the Trinity attack after the break.
MVCS visits Twinfield on Monday.
PROCTOR, Vt. — Olly Skeet-Browning collected his 100th career point, but the Phoenix gave up five unanswered goals to fall to 2-6-0.
Daniel Henderson scored early for Sharon, with Skeet-Browning picking up the assist, to give the visitors a 1-0 lead. Skeet-Browning served a cross to Henderson, who headed it home.
“We had a defensive lapse soon after that goal, and the floodgates opened a bit,” Sharon coach Blake Fabrikant said.
Keeper Ben Rodis had six saves for the Phoenix, who play at West Rutland on Friday.
TOWNSHEND, Vt. — The Wasps (6-3-1) posted their first tie of the season in a Southern Vermont League visit to the Rebels. Woodstock hosts Windsor on Friday.
PENACOOK, N.H. — The Cardinals (3-6-0) saw a two-match winning streak end in advance of Saturday’s visit to Kearsarge.
TILTON, N.H. — The Royals played what coach Jenn Hammond called a dominant offensive game to blank the Bears.
Nikki Williams got the fun started early, scoring on a corner by Michaela Dowd. Chloe Crate added an unassisted goal to give Mascoma a 2-0 lead at halftime.
Amelia Wilson added two goals in the second half. Natalie Poitras also scored. Dowd added a second assist and Mackenzie Labrie had one assist.
Goalie Emily Conrad had one save for the Royals (7-3-0), who play host to Franklin on Friday.
CONCORD — The Eagles improved to 5-3 with a straight-set win (25-11, 25-18, 25-19) over Trinity Christian. Nyah Jenks had 10 assists, and Gabriella Tsakiris added 10 digs for the Eagles. Delaney Gross had five kills, and Anna Loiselle had four kills.
The Eagles are back in action on Wednesday at Enosburg.
GRANTHAM — Three Raiders shared top-of-the-team honors as Lebanon took third place in a four-team match on the back nine at Eastman Golf Links.
Zach Bitler, Roy Shapard and Nathan Stack all scored 14 points to lead Lebanon (11-16), which also picked up an 11-point round from Stephan Krueger. Laconia, led by a 26-point round from Evan Rollins, edged the Raiders by a point for second place among the teams. Gilford, with four rounds of between 16 and 18 points, won the match.
Lebanon returns to Eastman to host Laconia, John Stark and Fall Mountain on Thursday.

CONCORD — The Cardinals (22-5) finished in the runner-up spot in a four-team match at Beaver Meadow Golf Club.
Dylan Adamovich led the way for Stevens with 23 points in Stableford scoring. Finn Allen was just behind at 22 points, Reeve Wilkinson had 17 and Cedric Allen had 15 points. Pelham’s Russ Hamel had a match-best 26 points.

WINDSOR — Bellows Falls produced the winner in the girls’ division and took both team victories in a Southern Vermont League meet held at the Windsor Fairgrounds.
Abigail Broadley, Stephanie Agar and Abby Dearborn swept the podium for the BF girls, with Broadley covering the 5K course in 21 minutes, 26 seconds. Hartford’s Bethany Davis placed fifth in 25:04.
The Hurricanes had the top two finishers among the boys — Pau Carol (19:21) and Aaron Mitchell (19:37) — but Bellows Falls runners took the next three spots en route to the team sweep. Owen Abrahamsen had the top Windsor time, clocking 22:41 for ninth place.

AKRON, Ohio — Dartmouth College junior Jason Liu sank birdie putts on five of his last 12 holes to close the two-day Firestone Invitational with a 4-under-par 68.
Liu shot eight spots up the individual standings, ultimately sharing fourth place with Bowling Green’s Gustav Fransson at 4-under 212. No other Big Green golfer cracked the top 30. Host Akron provided the individual winner in Fabian Sunden (72-66-70-208).
HANOVER — The Big Green (3-3-1) withstood a two-to-one disparity in shot attempts to rally for a draw with the Huskies (3-5-1) at Burnham Field.
Making its first appearance in Hanover in 10 years, the Huskies notched the night’s first two goals. Jordan Hall converted passes from Felix Metzler and Dayonn Harris in the 33rd minute, and Ahdan Tait knocked home a Thomas Decottignies feed in the 56th.
Dartmouth began its comeback in the 63rd minute, with Jordan Bailon depositing a pass from Kota Sakurai behind UConn goalkeeper Gianluca Catalano. Tiger Graham notched the equalizer just 35 seconds later, with Dawson McCartney providing the service.
Dartmouth keeper Alex Budnik played a key role in the deadlock, making five saves on a night in which the Big Green was outshot, 21-9. Dartmouth opens Ivy League play at home against Princeton on Saturday.
