I-89 Exit 18 southbound on ramp to be closed for paving

LEBANON — The Interstate 89 Exit 18 southbound on ramp in Lebanon will be closed at 7 p.m. Monday night for paving and is scheduled to reopen by 6 a.m. Tuesday.

Motorists are instructed to go north and take the Exit 19 south bound on ramp, according to a news release from the New Hampshire Department of Transportation. The detour is marked by signs and is about 3 miles long.

Session teaches about monitoring blue-green algae

Hartland Shooting Range to be closed for two weeks

HARTLAND — Hammond Cove Shooting Range in Hartland will be closed for two weeks beginning July 8 while The Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department removes lead projectiles from the long gun and pistol berms and relocates the pistol berm 20 yards to 50 yards.

Free summer activities held in Woodstock

WOODSTOCK — Free activities are being offered to students in kindergarten through sixth grade who are part of the Windsor Central Supervisory District. The activities will be held Tuesday-Thursday from 10:30 a.m.-noon Aug. 6-8, Aug. 13-15 and Aug. 20-22 in the Community Room at Safford Commons Way in Woodstock.

Lebanon Fire Department gets American Heart Assn. Award

LEBANON — The Lebanon Fire Department has received the American Heart Association’s Mission: Lifeline EMS Silver Award for implementing quality improvement measures for the treatment of patients who experience severe heart attacks.

Lebanon Fire Chief Chris Christopoulos said in a news release that the award recognizes the department’s commitment to helping heart attack patients.

Five Upper Valley residents to pedal in Pan-Mass Challenge

NEEDHAM, Mass. — Five Upper Valley residents will participate in the 192-mile Pan-Mass Challenge bike ride Aug. 3 and 4.

Linda Muri and Justine Seraganian, of Hanover; John Kravic and Ralph Sweetland, of Sunapee; and Danny Sunderland, of West Lebanon, will participate in the ride, which raises money for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston

Third N.H. gun control bill sent to governor

CONCORD — The final bill in a package of gun control legislation has been sent to Republican Gov. Chris Sununu, who has said he is not looking to make any changes to existing gun laws.

The House and Senate voted Thursday to approve a compromise version of a bill that would ban most guns from school grounds.
