BETHEL — Construction workers will control traffic over an aging bridge on Route 12 in Bethel, but drivers should expect minimal delays, the Vermont Agency of Transportation said this week.
Traffic will continue on the existing bridge, Bridge No. 38 over Gilead Brook, while the new bridge is constructed upstream. The bridge is located about 4 miles north of the intersection of routes 12 and 107.
The traffic update will occur during tree clearing activities and as needed for large equipment, a news release said. Next week, crews will work beneath the bridge on a pier foundation. The bridge replacement is slated for completion in fall 2020.
