HOMOSASSA, FL — Victoria Lynn Austin, age 60, passed away unexpectedly in her home in Homosassa, Florida on January 8, 2019. She was born in Newport, New Hampshire on August 31, 1958. Vicki grew up on the foot of Mount Sunapee in an old farmhouse owned by her grandfather “Pop,” with her two sisters, mother and father. She loved everything about that land and spoke of it fondly throughout her life. Vicki spent many years away from the land she loved from California to Colorado to Florida. From time to time, New Hampshire would always call her home. She raised two children and found love there. Vicki also had a love for the sea, spending much of her final years on the beach collecting shells. When she wasn’t hiking or traveling, Vicki was a creative soul who spent every extra minute she could digging through gardens, arranging flowers, sewing her own clothes, hooking rugs, making anything and everything that sparked her interest. She was so talented and loved sharing her gift with others. If you knew Vicki, you knew what a friendly person she was, she loved to laugh and listen to music, and more often than not, you would see her riding her bike. Vicki will be so deeply missed. She passed away too soon.

Victoria is survived by her husband of 21 years Bruce Austin whom she shared many adventures with; her children James Crone and Valerie Padgett whom she shared her love of nature with; her sister Mary Ellen Wright whom she shared much laughter with; and her many other relatives whom she shared her heart with.

With summer beginning and flowers blooming, we are holding a Celebration of Life for Vicki at Mount Sunapee Resort in the Hearthstone Room, located in the Spruce Lodge, on Saturday, June 15, 2019 from 11am-1pm.

Vicki’s son James requests that visitors bring seeds of their favorite flowers or vegetables to the gathering. A garden will be made in her honor at his residence, so contributions will be greatly appreciated as a memoriam to Vicki.
