HARTFORD — Firefighters are battling a brush fire near Route 14 and Watson Dog Park.
The fire in between downtown White River Junction and Hartford Village sent large columns of smoke visible from Interstate 91.
Tanker trunks from adjoining towns were called to the scene. Winds of about 20 mph hampered efforts to extinguish the fire, which authorities believe may have started when a tree fell on a power line.

A number of spectators lined up across the White River along Route 4 to watch the fire.
