HANOVER — New Hampshire’s PBS Hanover channel 50 will be temporarily off air beginning Friday for a mandated channel reassignment.

The switch could take up to two weeks, according to a news release from New Hampshire PBS.

The Federal Communications Commission has mandated that states transfer NHPBS from its current channel 50 (W50DP-D) to its newly assigned channel of 36 (W36FE-D) once new antennas and equipment are installed.

Once the new channel is launched, people who watch it via Hanover antenna signal will need to rescan their television sets, the release states.
