LEBANON, NH — Elizabeth T. Carver, 95, of Lebanon, NH passed away February 3, 2019 at Elm Wood Center at Claremont. She was born February 9, 1923 in Brattleboro, VT to William and Nora (Donahue) Anderson. Betty moved to West Lebanon when she was very young, moving to Enfield Center when she was 9 years old. She graduated from Enfield High School in 1941. Betty married Zenas “Zeke” Talbert, who was killed in action during WWII. She married Russell V. Carver July 3, 1951.

Betty worked as a Switchboard Operator at New England Telephone in Enfield Center, Enfield, Lebanon, and White River Junction before retiring.

She and her family loved to go the beach. They took many memorable trips to Hampton Beach and spent winters for 20 years in Vero Beach, Florida.

Betty loved reading and especially enjoyed mysteries. She also enjoyed doing the crossword puzzles in the Valley News. Betty was also a devoted Patriots and Red Sox fan. She loved animals and enjoyed birdwatching and feeding the birds.

Betty was a member of Sacred Heart Parish in Lebanon, NH, attending the 4:30 P.M. Mass every Friday as long as she was well.

Betty is survived by her sons, Terry (Barbara) Talbert of Enfield Center, NH and Kent Carver of Lebanon, NH; grandsons, Steven Talbert of Penacook, NH and Jeffrey (Melissa) Talbert of Enfield Center, NH; and her nieces and nephew.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, William Anderson and Nora Donahue; two husbands, Zeke Talbert and Russell Carver; and siblings, Ellen, Katherine, Margaret, John, and Nora.

Memorial donations in Betty’s name may be made to the Upper Valley Humane Society, 300 Old Route 10, Enfield, NH 03748.

No public services are planned. Betty’s urn will be placed at Sacred Heart Cemetery by her family.
