Berlin, n.h.
That isn’t a road trip. That’s a tour.
The Raiders will want to play an encore if they have more games like Monday’s 4-3 overtime defeat of Berlin. Slow to get started after the long drive, LSM (5-5-0, 6-6-0) scored twice in a 59-second span of the third period to erase a 3-1 deficit. Aidan Yates won it for the Raiders with 3:44 left in the extra session, scoring his sixth goal of the year, his fourth in three games and his second over the eight days of frost heaves.
“We had bus legs for about a period and a half and did not play well,” Raider coach Jim Damren confessed. “After the second intermission, we played really hard, played really well — and gave up a goal to go down, 3-1.
“After that point, they battled, they busted their asses and got a couple of nice rebound goals. Then we just pressured the hell out of them in the overtime.”
Yates got the game-winner on a crease jam through Berlin goalie Trent Labrecque (32 saves) on a Jack Sandmann assist. Sandmann Tristan Ouellette and Andrew Duany provided Lebanon’s other goals; Mason Adams, Trey Chickering and Luke Greene joined Duany and Sandmann in the assist department.
The shots-on-goal stats bear out Damren’s view of the contest. Lebanon piled 29 of its 36 shots on goal over the final two periods of regulation and the overtime.
“It was a total team effort,” Damren said. “Our top six forwards and top four defensemen played pretty solid, and we were able to get some guys into the game to give those guys a blow.”
Hunter Robb finished with 21 saves for the Raiders, who will be meeting the undefeated NHIAA Division II leaders when they make the long trek to Dover on Saturday.

Hanover yielded just 22 goals in 34 games over the past two seasons, in part because of Edmonds’ play in goal. Last fall’s team ran off eight consecutive shutouts to open the season and finished with 11 en route to the D-II final.
Schwarz led Hanover in scoring each of the last two seasons. She followed an 18-goal, six-assist junior campaign in 2017 with 16 goals and 11 assists last season as a senior.
The Marauders recorded a 25-6-3 record during the past two seasons, falling to Windham in the 2017 title game and to Derryfield in the D-II final back in late October.
