Exeter, n.h. — The Hanover High swimming and diving team is less than two weeks away from making a defense of its NHIAA Division II state championship from last winter. With the state meet on the horizon, the Marauders appear set when it comes to the board.

Hanover swept the top spots among boys and girls on Sunday to win the Exeter Diving Invitational at Phillips Exeter Academy. Senior captain Kai Renshaw won the boys division with 409.0 points, while junior Amelia Wallis remained undefeated — as is Renshaw — by scoring 370.25 points to top the girls.

Benjamin Hoffer (293.0) was fourth to back up Renshaw in the boys meet. Clay Kynor will join Hoffer and Renshaw at states following a 12th-place finish (188.80) at Exeter. Rebekah Rudd (third, 243.8) and Sophia May (fourth, 209.3) will suit up with Wallis at the girls state meet.

The NHIAA swimming and diving championship is set for Feb. 8 at the University of New Hampshire.

Girls Hockey

Brady-Trinity-West 7Leb.-Stev.-Kear. 2

Hooksett, n.h. — Brady-Trinity-West surrendered the game’s first two goals before roaring back to beat the Raiders (4-7-0) at Tri-Town Arena.

Marissa Pickman scored her team-best 13th goal of the season just 1:11 into the contest to get the Raiders started, and Lilly Gogan followed with an unassisted breakaway with 3:06 left in the period for a 2-0 lead. BTW pulled one back just 22 seconds before the intermission, using a four-goal middle stanza to break the visitors’ spirit.

“I thought we totally had control of the game,” Lebanon coach Brad Shaw said of his team, which was playing its second road game in less than 24 hours. “But we came out in the second period and looked like a different team.”

Lily Barber and Makayla Maccioli earned assists on Pickman’s goal. Paige Hoegler made 17 saves over two periods and Kayleigh Trietsch added a dozen more while allowing two goals in the third. Lebanon visits Keene-Monadnock-Fall Mountain on Wednesday.

Boys Basketball

KUA 77, GTA Prep 75

Meriden — Trey Parker’s season-high 27 points and an additional 24 points from Will Engelhardt pushed the Wildcats (8-5) past Ontario-based GTA Prep on Saturday.

Down by nine points midway through the second half, Kimball Union battled back to grab a late five-point lead before the visitors sank a 3-pointer at the buzzer for the final margin of victory. Parker went 8-for-8 at the free-throw line in the second half, while Engelhardt went 8-for-9. Enoch Cheeks had 18 points and eight assists for KUA.

The Wildcats meet Proctor Academy on Wednesday.

Girls Basketball

KUA 54, Phillips Andover 53

Meriden — Maddy Haynes and Jenna Santos both produced 16-point efforts to lead the Wildcats (7-7) to a narrow home victory on Saturday.

Senior forward Catherine Beaupre provided a big lift at both ends of the floor for KUA. Beaupre had 10 points on offense and grabbed five rebounds, five deflections and two drawn charges at the defensive end of the court.

Kimball Union visits Deerfield on Wednesday.

Women’s Tennis

Dartmouth 7, UConn 0

Hanover — The Big Green blanked the Huskies in their first match of the new year at the Boss Tennis Center.

Dartmouth took the doubles point with two wins in three matches. The hosts then proceeded to sweep the final six singles points without dropping a set. Junior Chuyang Guan, freshman Nicole Conard and senior Abigail Chiu provided the wins that clinched the match.

Dartmouth hosts Boston University on Saturday and St. John’s on Sunday.

Men’s Tennis

Columbia 4, Dartmouth 1

New York — The 14th-ranked Lions topped the Big Green on Sunday to close the ITA Kickoff Weekend tournament.

Columbia (2-0) got the doubles point with two wins in three matches. Wins at second and sixth singles pushed the Lions to a 3-0 lead before Dartmouth’s Charlie Broom took a 6-2, 6-2 win over Jack Lin at No. 1. Columbia then closed out the contest with a victory at No. 5.

Dartmouth (3-1) hosts Louisville on Sunday morning at the Boss Center.

Men’s Track and Field

Dartmouth Competes at BU

Boston — Donovan Spearman had the top time by a collegiate athlete in the 60-meter dash to highlight the Big Green’s participation in the men’s half of the non-scoring BU Terrier Invitational on Saturday.

Spearman finished second overall in his event, clocking a time of 6.82 seconds to finish just a hundredth of a second behind a professional competitor. Max Frye was also the top collegiate runner in the 500-meter dash, with a time of 1:04.47. Reed Horton was eighth in the 1,000 (2:25.29), also topping the college field.

Two Dartmouth runners made the final of the 60-meter hurdles. Shawn Ohazuruike took second in 8.23 seconds, and teammate Parker Johnson was sixth in 8.38 seconds.

College Swimming

Dartmouth Sweeps UMass

Hanover — The Big Green swept to wins over Masshachusetts to cap the Tate Ramsden Invitational on Saturday in the Karl Michael Pool.

The Dartmouth women claimed their meet, 193-142. The Big Green picked up wins from Mia Leko in the 200-yard freestyle (1:52.69) and 200 butterfly (2:06.06), Connie Zhang in the 100 backstroke (59.22), Sarah Minnigh in the 1,650 free (17:23.38), Mackenzie Stumpf in the 200 breaststroke (2:08.61) and Maggie Deppe-Walker in the 200 breast (2:25.76).

The men took their meet, 200-136. Connor LaMastra broke the pool and meet records in winning the 400 individual medley (3:51.49), later breaking another pool mark in the 1,650 free (15:26.76). Other wins came from JP Mortenson in the 100 yard butterfly (50.44), diver Justin Sodokoff on the 3-meter board (meet-record 373.30 points), Joe Moll in the 200 backstroke (1:51.72), Henry Patrick (46.73) in the 100 free and Zach Browne in the 200-yard fly (1:53.78).
