Sunapee — Alexis Matte scored 26 points as the Mount Royal Academy girls basketball team defeated Epping, 53-41, on Thursday in an NHIAA Division IV matchup.

Down 20-14 after one quarter, the Knights outscored the Blue Devils, 18-4, in the second, and held them to just 21 points after the first period.

“We got out and ran, and then did a better job executing our offense,” MRA coach Derek Tremblay said.

Sophie LaRose added 13 points and Jacinta Hogan nine for the Royals (9-4), who greet Lin-Wood tonight.

Boys Basketball

Epping 68, Mount Royal 43

Sunapee — Hunter Bullock scored 33 points as Epping defeated Mount Royal (6-7 overall, 5-5 NHIAA D-IV) to snap the Knights’ six-game winning streak.

Louis Larosiliere scored 17 points and Brendan Moorehouse 13 for Mount Royal, which hosts Lin-Wood tonight.

Colby-Sawyer 76, Rivier 49

New London — Tianna Sugars had 24 points and 14 rebounds as Colby-Sawyer (12-7, 4-2 GNAC) defeated Rivier (2-14, 0-6).

The Chargers visit Simmons on Saturday.
